Wolverhampton Local Offer for Parents and Carers

We are working with Talentino, a Matrix accredited external career Development Company affiliated to the professional body The Career Development Institute and specialising in the career development of young people with SEND. Our staff at school have been trained by Talentino to deliver the careers programme – Careers at Every Level – which includes classroom based career coaching, work experience, employer engagement, employability skills development and business enterprise.

In addition, we offer our coffee shop, ’The Tree Room’ in which our pupils become Barista’s. Our young people handle money and help with stock control. We offer office work such as filling, shredding, counting papers and labelling envelopes. We offer horticulture as we have an allotment, growing all sorts of produce. We have an Up-cycling workshop. Our pupils may get the opportunity to work with the Site Supervisors and the ICT Manager. Our young people will be accessing Supported Employment Provision, we continue to support our young people and their parents in developing realistic expectations as to what jobs are available in the community, skills and qualifications necessary and the wages they can expect to receive.

The Careers programme delivers against the 8 Gatsby benchmarks in the following way (click on pdf) and we use the Compass tool to establish our progress and make plans to improve further. Our Careers Leader is Laura Bennett, a member of the senior leadership team, who works in conjunction with our Work Experience Co-ordinator Alison Tillyard.
