Wolverhampton Outreach Service
Tettenhall Wood School is proud to be part of Wolverhampton Outreach Service. We work closely with four other Wolverhampton special schools to offer support to mainstream settings across Wolverhampton. As Wolverhampton Local Authority's designated special school for children with autism, Tettenhall Wood School staff has developed specialist knowledge and skills in order to meet a range of complex and co-occurring needs. Sharing this specialist knowledge, through the Outreach Service we aim to enable schools to support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and in doing so, build capacity for future success.
Support is accessed by schools through referrals for individual pupils and requests for training. The Outreach Service also provides a comprehensive annual training programme for professionals.
In addition to this the Outreach Service supports parents of children with an autism diagnosis by holding support groups, regular parent workshops on a range of relevant topics and National Autistic Society post-diagnosis programmes.
